# of Interpretations for Ugly: 2 E-mail Aaron with your own video interpretations.

I think a good video for Ugly would be Billy looking in the mirror, in a dirty gas station bathroom, making those scary faces he makes, having flash backs of all the times he tired so hard to be something good, but people just put him down. And then during the bridge it should show him walking down an alley. There is a path of light in the middle, but everytime he gets close to the light it moves. Then it goes back to the mirror, and at the very end he just gives this blank expression and turns his head. The end.

The video starts off with Billy looking into a mirror (I don’t look in the mirror) He closes his eyes and looks down, kind of in a sad kid type of way. Like, he’s so lonesome, no one is there for him. (I don’t like what I see staring back at me) You see a big long crack in the mirror. (Everything is clearer) You see a clear blue sky with no clouds in site. (I’ll never see what you see) Theirs a bunch of preppy girls standing around a cute guy (its not me) Billy shakes his head, half like, I cant believe what their doing and half like, no one would ever do that to me (So beautiful and free) Theirs a cute little boy running down the street (I’ll be what you need) The little boy stops and stands right in front of Billy. Billy neals down to the boy and the two make eye contact (Cant help at all) The little boy puts his hand out to Billy’s, and Billy takes his hand. (I was born so beautiful) Billy smiles a fake smile (But now I’m ugly) The two let go of their hands and Billy stands up and starts to walk some more. He meets up with James Iha and the two start walking again. (And I rot in my skin) Theirs an apple that’s rotting in its skin. (As a piece of me dies everyday) Theirs a flower and its loosing is peddles. (I know I’m nothing) You see the two In a empty field with nothing in it but them (I know theirs nothing I can say) James mouth is shut tight by tape. (to change) The sky changes color from blue to this grayish color. (The judgment in their ways) The two are riding in a bus with Jimmy by them now and all the other people are kind of whispering to each other about them. (I’ll never be what you need) You see Jimmy looking at a beautiful woman out side the window and he has on a kind of mad look. (Can’t help at all) They get off the bus with a lot of people looking at them with a mean face. And all three have a confused look on their faces. (My love was so beautiful) You see Melissa (new bassist) at a table with a guy laughing having a great time. (But now I’m ugly) The guy looks at Melissa up close and has a scared look on his face, so he half runs away. (Yeah) Billy, James, and Jimmy are looking at Melissa through the restreruant window. (I’m good enough, but I don’t care) They all turn a corner, all staring ahead remembering all of the bad times. (I’m good enough, but I’m not there) Theirs a women calling out Billy’s name, saying that he’s all right, but he spaces off with the rest of them. (I’m good enough, but I don’t care) Billy walking ahead from the rest of them with a mad look on his face. He turns around and the woman looks disappointed. (The sun is out but I don’t care) James looking at the sun puts his hood up and his sunglasses on. (I can go anywhere; I’m good enough but I don’t care; …somewhere) Jimmy stops and opens up his arms, Billy shaking his head like why bother, and Melissa has that dazed look on her face (I can go anywhere; the sun is out but I don’t care;…somewhere) James looking at an airplane flying over his head knowing that he could go. Billy knowing the sun is out but he doesn’t care, and he doesn’t stop to look at it. Jimmy looking at a bus knows that he could go somewhere. (I could go anywhere; I’m good enough;…somewhere) All of them snap out the daze they were in and they start to catch up with Billy. (I could go anywhere; I’m good enough;…somewhere) Billy stopping at a sidewalk that goes two ways. The rest catch up and stop behind him. He picks and they start walking again. (I don’t look in the mirror) All of them going into the studio where their interments are. Billy looking into the mirror right in front of him, looks the other way at the rest of them. (I don’t like what I see staring back at me) He picks up one of the cheaper guitars and smashes it into the window. (Everything is clearer) There by a little restaurant stand that has some stuff plugged into the wall. Billy sees himself from the glass. (I’ll never see what you see) They take out the restaurant has plugged into the wall and they hook up their interments. (And I rot in my skin) They’re playing the song, and Billy looking into the camera. James looking down, in a cool way while playing, and Melissa kind of swaying. (As a piece of me dies everyday) You see a bird flying above and some of the feathers fall out. (I know I’m nothing) The same women that was yelling for Billy turns the corner, not knowing it will be them. (Because I’m ugly) Billy looking at her with a serious look, and the same with everyone else.
