The song starts on a rainy, apocalyptic, and all-out gloomy day. There is a
shot of a boy looking out the window of an apartment (the kind with the crack
dealers right next door), looking hopeful. He sees a car drive up. *Disarm you with a smile, and cut you like you want me to, cut that little child, inside of me and such a part of you* Cut to a video arcade (again, very doom-and-gloomy...but at least it's got a Pac Man machine). Billy is inside, singing the lyrics. The band is huddled around a video machine called "Disarm", yelling and laughing at D'arcy while she plays. *Ohhh, the years burn....* Cut to the characters on the video game. It is an airplane game, and the two pilots are talking on their radios. The conversation is shown on the screen. Character 1: "Think we should keep going?" Character 2: "If we turn back now, we'll lose everything!" *Ohh, the years burn, burn....* Cut to the apartment again, a girl at the door giving him an inviting look ("Think we should keep going?") He grabs his jacket in a hurry, waves to the people in the apartment, and practically jumps out the door ("If we turn back now, we'll lose everything!") *I used to be a little boy, so bold in my shoes, and what I choose is my choice, what's a boy supposed to do* Billy singing the lyrics, the band hoopin' and hollerin' in the background. *The killer in me is the killer in you, my love, send this smile over to you...* Back to the game, the band celebrating another job well done. Cut to the boy and the girl, now in the car, driving through the rain. This is the first good shot of their faces, attire, etc. Neither one looks like society's creme de la creme (their lack of fashion sense makes D'arcy scream at them during the imaginary filming), and the car is quite a bit less than perfect. The boy looks to the girl, whose looking out at the road, and watches her smile to herself. He gets a googly-eyed smile on his face and turns away blushing. *Disarm you with a smile, to leave you like they left me here, to wither in denial, the bitterness of one who's left alone...* Cut to Billy, walking up to the machine and using the lyrics to explain to D'arcy what she should do (pointing to the screen, etc.) *Ohh, the years burn... Ohh, the years burn, burn, burn....* Cut to the video screen. Character 1: "This isn't looking so good...we're taking a pounding!" Character 2: "We've pulled through harder things than this...engage rockets!" The planes then pull together and blast everything off the screen. *I used to be a little boy, so old in my shoes, what I choose is my voice, what's a boy supposed to do, the killer in me is the killer in you...* Cut to the boy and the girl getting out of the car and walking in the rain. They are walking through some kind of park, getting soaked but not quite caring. They're talking and laughing, giving the impression that they are old friends. When Billy sings "My love", they give each other a questioning look and slow down. *Send this smile over to you, the killer in me is the killer in you... (the song fading out)* Billy explaining the game to D'arcy again, looking like he's holding in a laugh. Cut back to the park, the boy and the girl have stopped walking. She reaches down and grabs his hand, whispers something (his name?), puts a hand behind his head, and kisses him. Before she breaks the kiss, cut back to the video game. There is fire on the screen and the planes crash down. James and Jimmy nearly collapse laughing, D'arcy throws her head back in frustration, then starts laughing with them. Billy rolls his eyes, this time using the lyrics to tell her what she did wrong. Back to the game screen: "Game Over" At the last note of the song, cut back to the park, the boy and girl looking at each other sadly, still holding hands.
Cut back to the arcade, the band still laughing, this time everyone is able
to hear them.
D'arcy: I was so close, too!
Billy: That's what you get for using rockets instead of extra-bastard nukes.
Jimmy: (Makes an explosion noise, laughing uncontrollably)
James: Got another quarter?
