October 22, 2007 - Tower Theatre - Philadelphia, PA, US Concert review by Mark Amazing show and great venue! The Tower Theatre is one of the best locations in the Philadelphia area and it's clear why they were able to sell out all four shows there. Explosions In The Sky as the opening act seemed like a good fit once they got into their act. Nice balance by the Pumpkins in their set list. Lots off the new album and all the great hits from the past. The acoustic reworking of For God and Country was terrific and Billy's version of the Star Spangled Banner during the middle of United States was a nice surprise. Billy is still an incredible performer who knows how to work the crowd with his playing and interaction with the fans. Funny to see fans with signs and his reaction to them too. The new band members seem to hang back and let Billy and Jimmy do their thing. This is good. Maybe they're aware of Billy's ego..... Jimmy's drumming is still as good as it ever was too. He still beats on the kit with full energy and seems happy to be back. Highly recommend this tour, even for veteran fans. You won't be disappointed. Just make sure to listen to the new album. For one, it's good! And two, they play A LOT off of it. The rest of the songs are pretty much a greatest hits list.
