Concert review by Britney

A lot of people were very harsh about this Smashing Pumpkins tour. Half the people said it was an amazing show while others bashed it horribly. I, personally, have never seen the band play before and I was very excited. I was curious to see which of their songs they had played on the tour so far, so I checked this website. I was disappointed to find that they had played the EXACT same set list every night. However, I would not let that bring me down. Even though they left out some of my favorite songs, like Zero and, I still felt that the show was pretty amazing.

Billy Corgan is really cool and, although he may be a little arrogant, he is actually funny as hell. At one point, on his acoustic guitar he played the main riff for Smoke on the Water. Badly. It was quite amusing. A very cute part of the show was when Billy's niece, Eva, came on stage with him and sang Once Upon a Time. The audience chanted her name for encouragement. The encore, which I was unsure about before the show, turned out to be a very good ending. The whole band, besides the keyboardist, came to the front of the stage and sang We Only Come Out at Night and a cover of the song In the Summertime and played KAZOOS! I don't know about the rest of the audience, but I thought the kazoos were awesome and made up for the random songs.

My only real complaint about the show was this: The band probably could/should have played some more of their bigger songs. I understand that they may get sick of some of their singles, but if they're REALLY playing to make the audience happy, they'd still play them. A handful of B-sides songs were played along with new songs like the American Gothic tunes. (G.L.O.W., their upcoming single, was REALLY cool though) The songs they played weren't BAD, but the show could have been taken up a notch if the audience could jam out to their FAVORITES. Even though I said the encore was great, it would have been even better if they'd played something like Zero, Cherub Rock, or Everlasting Gaze.

Overall, the concert was still completely worth it and I hope I have the opportunity to see them again.
