June 3, 2003 - Paradiso - Amsterdam, Netherlands Concert review by B-BOY Can I just start off by saying that last nights show has left my ears feeling rather weird today and I seem to have also lost my voice too, so let's begin the review shall we? One word describes it really, LOUD! In a sold-out Paradiso we all stood there in the heat and humidity and listened to Billy and his friends play a near perfect set covering most of the album with a few b-sides and other songs (some of which I'd never heard before)thrown in for good measure. They played for around 90 mins but it felt like 30. Billy didn't speak much to the crowd throughout the concert but what's to say when you can play the guitar the way he does? The man is a total genius and I for one think he's playing even better now than in his Pumpkin days, the solo on "Desire" nearly made me cry as did their gorgeous violin-led version of "Heartsongs", totally sublime. They even had time for two encores and Billy thanked us all for a cool time and said he'd see us all again soon, I just hope he meant it because I need to see this band live again, once just ain't enough!!! Peace and Love from Holland you guyz.
